Team
Beep AI has been designed by the team behind multi winning radio station and production company Reform Radio, based in Manchester. With over 12 years running their own station and producing content for partners such as BBC Radio 6 Music, BBC Sounds, Hits Radio and Gaydio, the team have in depth insight and understanding of the audio compliance process.
As both business owners and producers, the team saw a opportunity to leverage AI to both reduce the huge costs of compliance (a £6 billion problem worldwide) whilst freeing staff up to be more creative and drive growth through development of new ideas.
Failure to do thorough compliance can lead to huge fines from Ofcom (£53.2M in 20022/23), reputational damage, loss of work and widespread ofense or harm to listeners.
What really excites us as a team of radio and music fans, is the potential of this technology increase the diversity of what is heard on daytime radio and liberate listeners from repetitive playlists.

Can I listen to what has been found and make decisions on what is removed?
We’ve built a custom player that allows you to quickly skip to any words identified and manually listen to them. You can move the playhead and also check the transcript to understand the context in which the word was used. A tick box next to the word will allow you to decide what is taken out.
Does Beep AI get it right every time?
Although we have tested this thousands of hours of audio, like any AI systems, Beep AI isn’t perfect and might miss words. We designed Beep AI to be a time saving tool, rather than a replacement for final human editorial oversight.
